Octyl salicylate, or2-ethylhexyl salicylate, is anorganic compoundused as an ingredient insunscreensand cosmetics to absorb UVB (ultraviolet) rays from the sun. It is an ester formed by the condensation of a salicylic acid with 2-ethylhexanol. The salicylate portion of the molecule absorbs ultraviolet light, protecting skin from the harmful effects of exposure to sunlight. The ethylhexanol portion is a fatty alcohol, adding emollient and oil-like (water resistant) properties.

Uses: Octisalate is commonly used in the formulation of daily skin care products especially
sunscreen creams and drugs for treating photosensitivity dermatitis; it is  also  a ingredient
for shampoos, plastics, inks, anti-fading agents and ultraviolet absorbers. As an important
daily chemical product, it is commonly used in the formulations of perfumes, soaps,
cosmetics and sunscreen products. It is a product with broad prospects and great
development value.
Packing: In 25kg,250kgs polyethylene plastic drum or in 220kg,230kgs iron drum with plastic liner.
Storage: Stored at the place where is dry and cool. Kept in a well-closed container. Keep away
from sunlight.
